Advising Notes
If I am your academic advisor, please review the following information before you come in for your one-on-one advising session each semester.
Step 1) Listen to this audio file [click here]. This is the same information that I tell all of my advisees during each advising session. This is an important converstation.

Step 2) Come to the VisCom group advising time. Watch your email for date and time. If you miss this group advising time, contact me as soon as possible to set up a meeting. The longer you wait for advising, the harder it will be to get into classes.
Step 3) Log into MyOhio Portal and print two copies of the PDF version of your most current DARS. Bring both of these copies to the appointment time you have arranged. Be sure you have refreshed your DARS so that you are printing the most current information.
Step 4) Bring a copy of your VisCom Sequence Check Sheet to your appointment with me. If you do not have that check sheet, you can download it here

Step 5) Fill in your VisCom Sequence Check Sheet with the courses you have completed or that you are in now. Please mark the grade you earned next to each completed class.
Step 6) Bring a completed copy of your VisCom Course Demand Check Sheet to your appointment with me. Please download, print and fill in from the links below.

Step 7) Print and review the VisCom fact sheet for your sequence to identify the courses you should take next semester.

Step 8) Bring a written list of the courses you think you would like to take next semster.

Step 9) Be prepared to talk to me about what your area of specialization is or might be.
Step 10) Be prepared to talk to me about the internship you are planning to have.
